Fish Tacos

I miss Mexico already! Last night Frank and I were craving Mexican food but we also need to get back on our diet now that the cruise is over so we decided to make healthy fish tacos! As you can see I like a lot of cilantro and onions.

Ingredients:
2 pc. Tilapia fish
Carne asada seasoning
4 taco size tortillas (flour or corn)
1 Scallion onion
Handful of cilantro
1/2 Jalapeno
1 Key lime
Trader Joe's Tarter Sauce with dill & jalapeno
Fresh salsa

Directions:
Sprinkle carne asada seasoning on both sides of fish
BBQ for 10-15 minutes or until fully cooked
Cut up all fresh ingredients
Break apart cooked fish into small pieces
Warm tortillas on stove top
Spread tarter sauce on tortilla
Add fish, onions, cilantro, jalapeno and salsa
Squeeze lime juice over top
And enjoy!

Makes 4 tacos

We're Baaaaack!

Frank and I had so much fun on our cruise! First stop was Catalina Island. We rented a golf cart to cruise around the island, got coffee and checked out the shops. That night we got dressed up and I had the most delicious lobster I've ever tasted! I was feeling adventurous so I ordered alligator fritters too! I ate a reptile! Next stop was Ensenada Mexico. It pretty much looked like downtown LA. Lol. We took a tour bus to La Bufadora and ate authentic asada and fish tacos! We spent Thursday at sea relaxing on the ship and eating way too much! And I'm happy to report... I did not get sea sick! Yay!

DMV Rant

I have changed my address online TWICE yet the DMV continues to mail important paperwork to my old address! Thankfully I still have family living there otherwise I would've never received my vehicle registration renewal and the next time I got pulled over I'd be f*cked! I called to verbally assault someone about the situation and was told I have to change my vehicle address separately! Their system isn't "that advanced" to change both. So I go to change my vehicle address online and receive an error message that it will not be changed. I wanna punch someone in the face right now! Who's with me?

Passport Panic

My passport came in the mail the other day! Had a little bit of a panic attack because my birth certificate wasn't in the envelope. The lady at the post office said she had to mail them the original but not to worry they would mail it back. After about 30 minutes of playing out angry phone call scenarios in my head I noticed a small piece of paper that said citizenship evidence would be mailed back separately. Doh! I wonder how many people call them up daily screaming that they lost their birth certificate all because they failed to read the enclosed note?

Air-conditioning

Had our 1st indoor shoot Wednesday! I could get used to air-conditioning... especially during the summer months! After a couple helpful Photoshop tips from my pal Tiffany over at Rock Paper Vintage the photos turned out pretty awesome if I do say so myself. A little photoshop goes a long way! ;)

I'm also happy to announce we have a new model Anaïs Godard! Excited for our 1st shoot next Friday! The times they are a changing...

Grand Re-Blogging

I'm back! With all the new & exciting changes that are about to happen at Trashy Vintage it just made sense to pick up the keyboard again. I'm not a super chatty gal so you may find this blog to be a little less wordy and a little more picture heavy... but a picture's worth 1000 words, right?

We're getting ready for the long overdue Grand Re-Opening of our website www.trashyvintage.com! The layout is almost complete and we're about to start stocking the e-shelves so to speak. Even more exciting is this time around we'll be stocking both vintage & new items! I consider my style to be bold, minimalistic & classic so you'll find must-have on-trend pieces that are actually wearable! Why reinvent the wheel?

Hunting for wholesale is not an easy task as I'm quickly learning. Unless of-course you're into this sort of thing...

I didn't think so. And so the hunt continues! I'll keep you posted on our progress and the Grand Re-Opening! We've got a long road ahead of us but we're excited!
